H281 had brutal kills like Mr. Garrett hammer to head, nurse syringe to temple, syringe to doctors eye, draining blood from nurse, to drowning nurse in hot tub ( watched the movie with Dick Warlock on commentary said the water was ice cold) I’ll never forget that now every time I see that scene.
RZ was a brutal over powering in your face kind of thing, I think we all agree on that (It was his twist). With out seeing the trailer or the movie yet. Just saying brutal killings can be good it’s just how physical are they? We just don’t know…I like the fact it’s written by fans of the original and I think they get it. Bringing John Carpenter to see what he thinks, he liked the script. He’s doing the score which is cool. Bringing Castle back which is nice. The mask has been different since #4 looking nothing like the original in any capacity. I was not a fan of Resurrection, just hope if it is the last film it doesn’t leave a sour taste and it ends on a high note. Just the fact we get another film this Oct. is pretty awesome.
No idea, but it would be nice to see at least one of them in the movie. Would love to hear what happend to both of them after the events of a Halloween night 1978.
Well I gotta say the teeth scene doesn’t seem too over the top to me at all. I think our memories change over time. Mikey actually put a sheet over his head with glasses to be Bob the prankster ghost. That’s not exactly subtle. Lol. Without JC music It may seem like some dork is killing people. Music, lighting and proper build up can change the entire context of a scene.
Was asked by The Demon Bishop to post what the current ending is (pre-reshoot). Just wanted to get the “OK” before doing so, only because it’s still so far away from release and we don’t know if they’re outright changing the ending or extending it
Well I’ll post what I have heard, and we’ll see how it matches up to what shuyin_zer0 has read.
From what I’ve been told, Laurie and Karen use Allyson as bait to lure Michael to Laurie’s home. There’s a big, big fight scene and Michael manages to stab Laurie. Then Karen shoots him with apparently, a crossbow? He drops his knife, she runs over, grabs it and stabs him a whole goddamn lot. He looks dead. Karen and Allyson apparently load a bleeding Laurie into a truck, as we see that Michael is still breathing.
It apparently ends with Karen holding the bloody knife in the truck.
That’s sounds pretty cool but I can see where a lot of people wouldn’t be for it. Karen stabbing Michael a bunch of times kinda sounds like RZH2 ending. End… Karen holding the bloody knife in the truck almost takes you back too Jamie standing at the top of the staircase holding the bloody scissors breathing heavy (H4). Makes me wonder if she will become the next Michael Myers?!
Though shooting Michael with a crossbow sound pretty cool. Love too see his reaction…OMG probably pretty freaky. That reminds me of Loomis shooting him with the dart gun in (H5).
Is this a Halloween 4 type ending, where the “curse” or whatever enters another person? The fight sounds cool but if the final shot is Karen holding the knife in the truck its kinda lame, although the film still has yet to be in its “final” stage so i’ll reserve all judgement till I see the film. I would prefer a “happy” ending. There’s not much more they can do with these characters after this film. IMO.
Thing is, I’ve also been told bow and arrow, instead of crossbow. There’s like 10 sources now that are talking and it always matches up…kind of. Which is why I can’t wait to see what shuyin_zer0 has read. I assume it’ll be similar, and yet not quite the same.
From what I’ve read the final Karen shot is meant to show that they are ready for the final battle…that…doesn’t happen, at least not in the current ending.
IMO there’s no sense in leaving this film open ended. The way they approached this film with having everyone involved like Carpenter, Jamie Lee, Nick Castle, and going back to basics and having it take place 40 years later exact - it needs to be “final” for me, I wanna see Michael get a well deserved beating and have some closure to the franchise. (H2 was a perfect way to end The Shape IMO) but since they’re going in this new direction and getting everything right, especially the mask then it needs to be Michaels farewell. My opinion of course.
It doesn’t matter, they can make it how they want and end it how they want, in the end they can just keep doing what they have been and make another one down the line. There they can say well, this one didn’t happen either.
This is what I know as well, but it’s Allyson with the knife. Apparently though, it feels like a non-ending, like if Halloween 4 ended after they leave the school
Honestly I can kinda get why the test audience didn’t like it. And that Halloween 4 comparison is completely right. In fact it’s pretty perfect.
Like…if they are aiming to show the final confrontation between Laurie and Michael…well, maybe yeah they need to show the net result of said confrontation. I actually dig what they seemed to be aiming for here. A bit of ambiguity. But if they didn’t quite nail it, then I am more than OK with the reshoots.
