Hate to be a pessimist here but I find it almost impossible to believe either partner in this release went back to do a better job remastering what they’ve already put out. It’s got “double-dip” written all over it. I know it was from a different company but looking at the Friday box, they didn’t go back and do a better transfer to the original or the sequels that were already put out. Hear all of you Curse fanatics, a professionally done H6 would probably be enough to get me to drop $130 alone. But unless some amazing secret is being kept and the Kirkus H1 goodies are in this boxset, I don’t see how this release can be looked at as anything but a major disappointment. Hope I can shove my foot in my mouth come release day!
I remember Billy saying, not long ago, that he didn’t want the “lost footage” in the hands of Shout!, so you can all probably get that pipedream out of your head right now.
Yep!
Call me a wet blanket but I could care less about this release. There hasnt, in my mind, been a great Myers movie since 1981. I cant stomach anything past 4. Easy pass for me. At this point I dont think we will ever see the lost footage from Billy…just dont see it ever happening…Larry
Limited edition. IMO Many people will try and flip them for extra cash come the Halloween season. There was also some limited print included as well with the purchase? That’ll also be going for bank too.
If the price was right? Almost anything is possible. Not this time around though.
I’m with you. I do think that it’s good for some of the hardcore fans of the whole series. I’ll pass though, as there’s nothing for me here with this set. If they do redo certain things with the first two films, they’ll certainly sell them separately.
This is good news, The TV cuts and H6 Producers and the Booklet makes it a winner for sure! Interested in what these ‘new features’ are. I know we all want to see the ‘found footage’ Sadly, I doubt we will ever see that.
With that said, This seems a winner. Wonder if this will be region free…or if there will be a region 2 release?
Makes you wish you knew exactly what it was when you were offered it, huh?
It’s not up to me, it’s up to Malek. Sorry guys. It’s up to MALEK! Until that time, it will sit in a film vault.
(Let Synapse Films have the rights to the original Halloween…you’d see an announcement on this footage the first day of that! A FULL extensive restoration of the footage, a real, HUGE(!) documentary on the making of HalloweeN, who wouldn’t want to see that? That could be Malek’s legacy…instead of Halloween Res and the Rob Zombie remakes. )
I meant no jab at you Billy, more a blanket statement about the powers that be refusing to work with you. I’m actually glad I didnt end up with the reels, you have WAY more connections to see it where it belongs…the hands of the fans…Larry
Who is Malek?
Does anyone the difference in the 15 & 10 disc set. I’m assuming the 15 disc set includes more but are there any details yet on what exactly each set will have.

This is the official press-release. Beyond this we have no details:
Anchor Bay Entertainment and Scream Factory! have forged a partnership and announced two different releases of the long-awaited Halloween: The Complete Collection: a 10-disc standard edition set and a 15-disc Limited Edition deluxe box set that includes all-new bonus features, collectible packaging and a 40-page book. Halloween: The Complete Collection sets arrive on Blu-ray on September 23rd.
Before Jason, before Freddy, before Jigsaw, there was Michael Myers. What producers Moustapha Akkad, Debra Hill and Irwin Yablans, writer/director John Carpenter and stars Jamie Lee Curtis & Donald Pleasence started in 1978 has transformed into one of the most durable, iconic and studied horror film franchises ever created. Over the years, audiences have lived and relived the terrors of Michael Myers through ten feature films, as well as various re-edits and alternate versions. Yet to date, the complete saga of Michael Myers could only be told in pieces, in individual Blu-ray and DVD, with the rights spread across multiple home entertainment studios.
The 15-disc Limited Edition deluxe set is spread across 15 discs and includes every Halloween feature film:
•Halloween (Original & 35th Anniversary)
•Halloween II
•Halloween III: Season of the Witch
•Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
•Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers
•Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers
•Halloween H20
•Halloween: Resurrection
•Rob Zombie’s Halloween
•Rob Zombie’s Halloween II
The set also offers:
•Never-before-released producer’s cut of Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers
•Ultra-rare network TV version of the original Halloween
•Network TV version of Halloween II
•Unrated version of Rob Zombie’s Halloween
•Unrated version of Rob Zombie’s Halloween II
The set is packed with hours of brand new bonus features as well, including new interviews with cast and crew from the entire franchise. In response to years of fan feedback, the first Halloween will now also include the original mono audio track and the set will include both versions of the original Halloween: the original Blu-ray release and the recently remastered 35th Anniversary version with the mono track added back in.
It also comes with a limited edition 40-page book written by Michael Gingold of Fangoria Magazine. The collectible packaging will include a newly commissioned illustration on the outer case and each film will be in its own black Blu-ray case with the original theatrical one sheet as the key art.
“This compilation is the ultimate collector’s item for fans of the Halloween films and a testament to all the wonderful talent that have worked on them,” remarked Malek Akkad, President of Trancas International Films and son of series producer Moustapha Akkad. “The partnership between Anchor Bay Entertainment and Scream Factory to present fans for the first time with all the Halloween films in one definitive package is a tribute to everyone – including my father – who made these films the terrifying classics they are today.”
Thanks I saw where you can pre- order on Amazon, so I may go with the 15 disc set.
Anyone pre-ordered the 15 disc set from Amazon yet? You think its safe to go ahead and place an order with them.
Sounds good concerning the H6 P-cut, I just saw this even though Daniel posted it to his Facebook a week ago:
…The P-Cut will be mastered from the original negative, the way it was intended to be seen. We’re also working on some cool bonus features for this release…
The fact it is being mastered from the ORIGINAL NEGATIVE is the big one for me. The bonus features he mentions is intriguing as well!
Hopefully they will improve the video and audio quality of H6, H7 and H8
From Daniel Farrands’ facebook page:
“H6 FANS! Composer Alan Howarth and I will be recording a commentary on the P-Cut this Thursday (5/29) and would like to get some questions from you guys that you’d like us to address. I get that everyone wants to know why Danielle Harris wasn’t in the film (I’ll explain that one) but anything else is fair game. Please help me spread the word around the “Halloween” message boards, etc. and forward any non-repetitive questions to this thread. “It’s time to blow the LID on this Myers thing. Now I’m mad, listeners. Now I’m mad!” - Barry Simms”

This is all very exciting!
But will the 15 disc set be playable in the UK?

Probably not. I believe all Scream Factory discs are region A.
