***Halloween Kills & Halloween Ends Discussion***

Agreed, I could not stand her. I had really hoped she would bite the bullet. Hopefully Myers gets her in the next film, Hell I will take the cops from Halloween 5 with the goofy clown music over her.

I bet the Shape will be even more competent this go around… in spite of all the injuries.

I hope so, It was a shame seeing him get taken down so easy. Speaking of Injuries another thing that drove me crazy was laurite having no issue falling off the second floor balcony. At her age she should have a broken bone or two.

That’s an easy fix, she was high on adrenaline lol

I guess but I don’t think even with an Adrenalin rush broken arm or so she would be able to 1v1 Myers. I think I just don’t like Laurie lol. I like the film but something about her character I don’t like anymore.

I read it in his voice lol

Agreed, having all the Strode girls live at the end made it feel like there were no stakes and severely weakened Michael as a character. If Karen would have died in Halloween 2018, it would have provided an interesting character arc for Allyson to have in Kills. With that being said I honestly never felt attached to any of them except Laurie. Ironically I felt much more attached/invested in Vicky’s character, she was really likable. Her relationship with the kid reminded me of how Laurie and Tommy got along in the original, just more humourous of course.

I agree. I love Vicky so much. Allison seemed weak all around

I understand that the 2018 movie was made with a very specific agenda in mind, but I think it was that very agenda that hurt the film in the end, in terms of the feeling of real danger. Never once did I believe that any of the Strode women would die because of the possible backlash in the shadow of the #metoo and #timesup movements. I know that’s probably not a very smart thing to say nowadays but it’s true.

Both Alison and Karen are killed, Halloween ends with Laurie and Michael going toe to toe for the last time possibly both being killed

It’s both very smart and very true.

The only time I want to see Michael getting “hurt” is at the end of the movie, when the hero/heroine strikes back. I’m not a fan of seeing him getting his ass kicked (or even seen) until the final act. H1, H2, and even H4 have it timed just about right. I don’t wanna even see anyone getting a punch, a bullet or anything on this guy that is supposed to live in the darkness until the final act. Just a pet peeve. I want to see Myers more like he was in the original and even HII (81), where he just creeps around, appears literally out of nowhere and out of dark corners to strike. I really like H18 but, jeez, I don’t need to see him as clear as day and he certainly does not need to be shot so early in the film and then run over like Ben Tramer. I mean, really, that whole scene was a disaster, the worst part of the movie for me. Michael Myers just got run over. It just sucks to me, I think he’s a little more savvy than that.

They did the same thing to Star Wars and the terminator series now. Ultra feminist overtones throughout the whole thing, just kills the entire story.

I hope there is more character building in the next and not just introducing a character and then we never see them again…

I didnt feel that way about Halloween 2018… Terminator DF was a poor story, and direction to take the series in, I cant say the same about Star Wars as I never was into that series, I find it all tame and dull. It just depends on the film and everyone involved- you could say Halloween 1978 is “metoo” film then…

Or most 80’s and 90’s horror, mostly females who get one up on the killer. Bottom line, if it’s something that’s already in the back of your mind due to the current climate of culture, or when you start looking for something hard enough, your bound to find it.

True.

for anyone who thinks H40 didn’t have a female agenda…JLC has already admitted it was…not sure how there is even a debate about it
