***Halloween Kills & Halloween Ends Discussion***

Just saying, I love having conversations with you on here haha!

But yeah, a trailer on a Saturday? Don’t think that’s happening. Maybe some images, maybe a poster, MAYBE a trailer release date, but a trailer? Universal only drops trailers on weekdays.

Yeah this thread is fun!.. Love speculating…My input would be possibly some type of information release of things to come but nothing solid…A trailer is highly wishful thinking especially before a poster haha!

Same.

And i’m not saying a trailer will be dropped on Saturday, what im saying is if they’re doing a QA and stuff, there will be tons and tons of people asking for the trailer. I don’t see how they’re just going to ignore all of that. That’s all i’m saying.

Me personally, i think we’re going to get a poster and maybe a trailer date.

Also, trailers come out during the week, yes. And mainly on THursdays cause that’s when new movies are released in theatres and they get attached to them, but due to COVID, anything can happen now cause theatres arern’t open yet. There’s been a few trailers released online recently as well so you never know. HOnestly, right now is probably the best time to release a trailer anyways, since everyone is home.

I think the biggest issue with releasing a trailer right now is that everything is so touch and go. A trailer for a slasher film that might end up being more than a year out? Doesn’t seem like something Universal would want to deal with. Let’s say Universal goes for a ‘spoilery’ trailer again, that’ll be open spoilers for a film for over a year. That footage for people would get stale REALLY fast.

Idk where everyone else lives but my state is opening up pretty much everything now. I think everyone needs to put on their big boy pants and stop being afraid of something that’s way over hyped by the media… the movie wont be pushed back, cant have stuff closed down that long in america. Get real

Work in the medical field I bet you would probably think a little different…

they just announced on twitter…you were right…theyre working on the trailer still and not sure when the release will be due to whats going on…i personally thought this as well…no poster though that kinda stinks!

Sadness…

Just proves a plan is not set in place because the world is too wild right now to get a plan together…No end in sight is the shitty part

Not exactly. The tweet was actually more positive than you are making it seem. The actual quote was:

“We’re still working on the trailer for #HalloweenKills now. And strategizing our plan for release based on the realities of the world. Fingers crossed. I feel really good and want to share so much more. Hopefully soon. Thank you guys so much. This made my day! #HalloweenAtHome

Sounds more like they have a plan in place and are hoping everything stays on track (Like everything opening back up soon). I think as everything opens back up and theatres reopen, they will release the trailer in June or july.

i meant no end in sight on the virus…which is a fact…the rest of my statement i believe is true…that statement doesnt seem like there is a solid plan in place…theyre strategizing their next move but eh…how can you plan with an uncertain future…i posted the full quote in the fb forum im not trying to make it ‘seem’ like anything lol

Oh, DGG.

Such a tease! haha

Lets hope for no later then a month or two!

I’m fairly certain if TENET moves/doesn’t open in July, Kills’ll get pushed to 2021.

Waiting a year is gonna suuuuck so bad lol

The quote literally says that he feels good about where things are going. I’m pretty sure everything is on track right now based off of what he said. Nowhewre does it say that there is no plan in place. The quote clearly states the opposite.

That doesn’t matter, he can feel as good as he wants. If theaters aren’t open, or are still shut down, or no other movies risk coming out before Kills does, you can bet it’ll move. It’s legit out of their control, which is why it’s so frustrating.

‘exactly ‘fingers crossed’’ is pretty telling as well…again cant plan for something when it is uncertain what the future holds in these times

Theatres will be open by October that will be a fact. Literally EVERYTHING is opening within the next few weeks and next month or so.

DEADLINE legit just put out an article regarding TENET, and the same thing applies to Kills. If 80% of theaters aren’t open by July (including the big metropolitan areas), TENET moves, that’s what WB is saying. And even IF July comes about, and there’s a big influx in cases/deaths/anything of that regard, you risk theaters being shut down again.

We haven’t even gotten to the prospect of a second outbreak in the fall.

I’m optimistic about October, I believe it CAN happen, but no, Universal and co. don’t have a ‘set and stone’ plan because nobody knows what is going to happen. I’m sure they have contingency plans, but as DGG just said, they’re still trying to figure it out. You can bet had things been normal, the Kills trailer would debut in early June right alongside Candyman. Not to say it couldn’t still do that now, but what’s really the point unless you know 100% that the film can hit October?

Even if they put the trailer out in July/August, the same question arrises. So they (and virtually every other studio) has to make a call, either take the risk of starting the marketing campaign, or delay it to next year. Having a full trailer for this film if it gets delayed a year won’t be fun, and people will be very upset about spoilers, and having to wait so long to see it.

By that metric, THE FOREVER PURGE’s trailer would have been out last month, and it probably wouldn’t have been delayed. It’s clear Universal isn’t confident in July right now, and is waiting, just like the rest of the world to see what happens, and is banking on what TENET does.

Like I said, I’m optimistic as all hell, I’d love for everyone to see it!
