ToTs rehauls, rehaulers and rehaul tips MASTER THREAD

Hello all. I tried for the first time to rehaul a mask with zero experience and chose a kills mask. I made mistakes and learned a lot.

Got very frustrated learning how to even get a airbrush to work (user error). Didn’t tape off the hair just went for it (biggest mistake) got latex paint in the hair.

It was fun. Hopefully it looks a little better than what these masks generally look like.

Also my 1st post here so hopefully its an ok one.

I’m not artistic in any way so. Go easy on me

Few shots of a TOTS Kirk I did. I really think the Kirk is one of the best masks from TOTS. Not too big or too small and the mold itself is quite accurate. Really fun to convert yourself as well. Would love to see some more Kirks on here from you guys and hear how you guys convert yours.

Jimmy Falco 78 rehaul, I painted the 2018

What is the normal thickness for a H40? The copy i bought seems really thin and does not hold it’s shape well. Eye area bulging etc

Don’t know the exact thickness but mine were about a medium thickness compared to the other TOTS masks I have. The Kills mask seems to be much thinner than the 2018s though. The thinnest I would say would be the H6 mask.

What are you guys doing to knock the shine off of new TOTS masks that doesn’t involve spraying a matte coat? I tried 0000 steel wool on a Boogeyman and that didn’t do anything. I’m trying to avoid sandpaper because I worry the mask is gonna be unnaturally “sanded” in appearance afterwards. Thoughts?

Alchohol rub down can help. Also latex/acrylic paint dilluted with distilled water will dull the shine. Maybe try some light washes with the dilluted paint working towards the final tone you’re going for.

Hey guys! These are my Halloween Kills masks that I’ve rehauled. Really loving these pieces. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks!

It could be the lighting and filters, but the Kills hero mask looks kinda glossy to me on the burned side. Do anyone of you finish your rehauls with a more glossy protective spray on the burned side and a matte on the other side ?

I did. It’s a little hard to see the gloss, I suck at taking pics.

I received my Kills mask today and it’s thicker and hold it’s shape very well, super nice sculpt details as well. The H40 copy i have is horrid compared to it, might just return it.

Not bad =) what protector did you use? =)

Plastidip and Plastidip Glossifier.

I don’t know what’s going on with the Kills’ masks. Mine are super thin and a bit bigger than the 2018 but then people see cases of it being thicker and smaller. My Kills barely retains shape and doesn’t look that great due to how thin it is.

“Is that Dennis’s mask?”

Got a tots H3 Skull mask that i’m going to be carrying around with my kills cosplay!

Rethinking my approach to the Kills mask after seeing new reference pics of the hero.

Nailed the burns.

Yeah I mentioned this about my two in a few of my YouTube videos. I bought direct from TOTS and my copy was 24.5” and perfect for my head as my H40 is tight.
But I bought a copy from Spirit Halloween and it’s no bigger than 24” and is barely bigger than my H40.
Guaranteed there are a couple size differences and thickness. When I finally get my RemZap Kills mask back I will post a comparison video as I’ve never had them in my hands at the same time yet.
