ToTs rehauls, rehaulers and rehaul tips MASTER THREAD

My friend, that is incredible for a first attempt, and even 10th or 20th attempt. I have tried 2018s multiple times and I just can’t nail the technique yet. My Kills turned out quite nice I think, but the 2018s I find extremely difficult. Well done!

That’s funny cause it’s the opposite for me. The kills seem to have almost no cracks and details visible since most of it’s completely covered with the white paint. The 2018 I can kinda build layers up and just accentuate the cracks. With the kills it’s like I gotta completely strip the base paint to get any detail.

Thank you Very much! I appreciate it, it really really made me want to order a mask to rehaul and keep for myself… so obviously I’m going to, haha. Seeing it in person is QUITE spooky.

nike_swoosh I’m curious too, I did notice the features were less prominent on the Kills from photos, and with my 2018 I basically made the neckline look better, sprayed a little flesh tone there, then white, and did a a few washes and it really just started to pop out. I was very nervous until the washes started happening, it was very much a “trust the process” moment when it was all white. I do want to try the Kills next… But I want to find something good to use for the blood on the wound he has on the right side of his face.

Any sort of professional grade fake blood and a bit of water is good for blood. Though imo it comes out to glossy. I like to use red and barn red acrylics mixed 50/50. Paint it on and then spray it with water.

Here’s my most recent kills

My worry was it looking TOO glossy, I dont mind if it has a bit of a fresh look, but I didn’t want it to be so shiny, I may have to give your method a try! Thanks!

Also, now that I’d gotten my orders out of the way, I was able to finish my personal mask. I’d gotten excited at converting the Kirks, again, after seeing doctormixter’s work, and then they were discontinued. So I decided I’d see what the next best option was. I grabbed myself a tramer, and let me tell you… I really enjoyed this conversion, it gives me similar vibes to the Kirk, I’d read that the Tramer descends from the Psycho, and that was always my fave back in the early 2000’s when i’d creep here. I Think it turned out fantastic! My only problem would be that the blonde hair that comes on the mask is like so very ultra fine, and heavily glued to the mask, so a lot of it was near impossible to remove as it was matted to the back. Maybe this issue doesnt occur on all of them though, anyway, enjoy! Any criticism is greatly appreciated as well

I added some more highlights and shading and STILL futzing with that hair lol.

I know it’s just ToTS with original hair, but for a first time, I don’t think it’s too bad. Definitely better than how they look on shelf, IMO, but I’m torn about the lips. Do you guys think I should outline them more or just leave it as is? Some of the masks I see in here have really defined lips and they look great, but I don’t wanna go too heavy and have it look silly. Like to define the cheek lines a bit more, too, but without an airbrush I’m also hesitant.

I bought mesh on etsy and the first eye was good with it no problems. The 2nd eye i did i messed up and got super glue on the mesh and re-did it with mesh scrap and obviously didnt like it so i did one eye only with mesh. I dont know if i should keep it like it is or take the eye mesh out. All opinions welcomed!

Wear a Nylon stocking over your head for blacked out eyes, it’s way easier and is a barrier for your skin against the latex

I like my visibility, so mesh and stockings are no good for me. You already lose most of your peripheral vision in a mask. I put black matte eyeshadow on the lids and around the entire area that is visible through the holes. For walking around that’s more than adequate and if you wanna pose for a pic, just shut your eyes.

To answer your question, though, I’d definitely take it out if you only have the one in there. Maybe you can combine the suggestion above, get a cheap pair of stockings and cut off a piece and Glue that inside over the eye area? That way you get the effect your were looking for without having a stocking over your head all night.

I’ve been wearing a MM mask for years. 20+ nights a season 4-6 hours/night. I’ve tried it all and the make-up is the most comfortable, IMO.

Two questions

I would like to paint the lines of the non burn side of the kills mask, what kinda of paint should I use?

And how could I simulate the moldy look on coveralls?

How do they do this to the hair? It doesn’t smell like hairspray and seems to be permanent. I tried Plasti dip on a small piece of loose hair and it just gave it gumballs so I’m guessing not Plasti dip either.

Hey i made some slight adjustments to the mask and want to see if anyone notices what. I did some things most people won’t see to the naked eye so look closely. I want to see if the changes were worth it. Thank you! (Btw no paint was involved)

Hey man! I’ll always appreciate subtle details and changes, that many dont notice, those nuances are what make or break something. To be honest, with your 78 though I dont really notice what you did. Other than it looks like you brushed the hair, and possibly cut the shine on the mask a bit or dulled it down so it would be more matte white? I dont really notice anything else, but now I wanna know what you did! :pumpkin:

This is my last tweak. Season starts Friday night! I know it’s not as good as some of you guys, but I did my best.

I think it looks great. Now that’s a wicked 78

Thanks! I appreciate the kind words. I’m inspired to finish up my Kirk now that I’ve finally attempted a repaint. Got one when they first came out and never moved past the eye holes and sideburns removal, so that will be a nice project soon.

Np man :grinning::love_you_gesture: that would be a great project.

Ends vs Kills
