ToTs rehauls, rehaulers and rehaul tips MASTER THREAD

Nice work.

WOW! Great rehaul and great execution with the full costume!

(I know it’s probably a heavy lift, but pics like this remind me why I wish we had a ‘like’ button!!!)

He looks kinda pissed at you lol.

Great fit on the coveralls, btw. I’m a fan of the taper at the waist. Too many saggy pants Meyers running around.

Also, the knife grip on your mannequin. That’s how I hold my knife when I’m standing. Never felt right holding it blade forward.

He’s pissed we didn’t kill that little shit Tommy Doyle the first time. Now everyone had to hear him shout “Evil Dies Tonight” for an entire night…that would make anyone pissed  I feel you on the bagginess of some Myers. The way I see it, the fit in the original film looked slightly baggy on the arms and legs only, not in the torso of the coveralls. Those green ones are 42L Red Kaps that I altered, I added elastic on the inside of the waist, but just to the back half so that it wouldnt look like the whole thing was belted or something. I think it gives a really good fit after some adjustments.

and the knife? I agree… When you hold it like it is in the photo, it just makes it easier to raise above your head for a stab! :myers:

Haha! Yes! Lindsay should have tripped him while they were running away back in 78!

Agreed on the knife. My thoughts exactly.

Those ARE Red Caps! I was gonna ask, too! I see yours have the pocket flap. I’ve been thinking about buying another pair to make one and then maybe selling off some more scraps for others, then I noticed something the other day. I wonder if I could just undo the stitching on that side pocket and use that?! It’s the perfect size. Is that what you did?!

Ooh, I hadn’t thought about using the side pocket. To be honest, I just bought another pair in the largest size available to have the extra fabric. I also want to make the collar bigger like they were in the 70s, but if you’re just doing the pocket flap, that side pocked would definitely be enough fabric, and you wouldnt have to buy a whole extra set of coveralls. The blue ones in the photos are actual vintage sears coveralls i scored on Ebay, they’re a true navy blue, but I got them pretty cheap and I can make a pattern of the collar from those to be able to make a pretty accurate one for my Red Kaps

Glad you mentioned the collar. I feel like I can’t really pop it high enough! It’s serviceable, but the nature of coveralls is that they want to pull downward on the shoulders, especially if your carrying heavy phones and keys in the pockets (put those INSIDE in your pockets, just realized this last night lol), so I’m constantly having to put in up where I like it. A larger collar would definitely help in that regard.

yeah! it’s very straight up and down rather than flared if that makes sense… I made this quickly and its a bit crude, but if you were to lay the coveralls down and open them up this is the difference between a Red Cap collar compared to the pattern of a 70’s “leisure” collar that the original coveralls have. I know it’s a bit off topic haha but I thought I’d share what I learned lol.

Yup! I totally get what you’re saying. It’s annoying lol.

You CAN achieve a decent flare if you keep the collar folded back at the nape of your neck rather than popping it up completely (see below). It also helps (because the pressure the fold puts on collar) to keep the neck of your mask closed, so it doesn’t flare out to much when you move around. I tried this last night and I barely had to readjust it.

Edit: and yes, I have a Halloween tree in my house. I NEVER take it down, I just decorate it for each season.

I don’t really have any experience and not a ton of tools, but I was wondering what specific items I should buy for a simple, somewhat easy rehaul? I see a lot of acrylic paint being used, should I start there? Thank you.

Airbrush? Ebay $60+++
Brushes $2-4 bucks Walmart
Liquid latex $9 Walmart Halloween stuff
Acrylic paints 50 cent a bottle walmart
Mohair $11+++++Ebay (Shepswool) they’re based in NC
Tacky Glue $2++++ Walmart, Family Dollar, Dollar Tree?
Baby scissors $5+++++ Walmart (they had them a few years back)
Plastidip Sealer $16 Amazon but you might able to find it at Walmart for $6+++++ (I had to give in to Amazon :frowning:)

I appreciate it, this helps a ton, thank you.

I’m glad to help out man. so u might like to get a foam head at Walmart. 5 bucks
but be sure to put a plastic bag over it because they claim that can help with the rotten process on the latex so be sure to do that and you can get a little metal paper towels stand at Dollar Tree to put the head on top that’s what I do

Oh yea, definitely need a foam head, and I’ll try that stuff out, thanks.

Heck yeah man

Well I finally got a chance to use my Kills cosplay at the Edmonton Expo a few weeks back. I originally was putting it together to show James Jude Courtney in Calgary back in June. Unfortunately the Calgary Horrorcon happened to be right when David Gordon Green called everyone back for reshoots [emoji53]
So I unfortunately didn’t get a chance to show James Jude Courtney this cosplay and get and autograph and picture. I was hoping it would be enough to put a good smile on his face. I hope he comes here one day. I currently have an End‘s mask being rehauled that I should have fairly soon, really looking forward to that one [emoji316][emoji380]
