Love this site. So many amazing Halloween Fans and happy to be part of this group. Anyone know of rehaulers in the Greater Toronto Area? If not, in Ontario or Canada with reasonable prices for work and shipping? Many thanks.

I still can’t master the Chris Nelson masks. I consider myself a fairly accomplished mask finisher, but am happy to admit I have much to learn, and the DGG trilogy masks are a large area of opportunity for me. I had one moderate success with a Kills mask using the wash method but it still wasn’t completely to my liking.

I’ve tried everything. For the wash method, I’ve tried multiple different sealants before washing so as not to stain the base coat. I’ve tried filling in the cracks by hand. I’ve tried lightly sponging over a dark basecoat. And I’ve tried the Chris Nelson dry-brushing method with every conceivable style of brush, but always end up with brush strokes, boogers, and/or a splotchy paint job, much like the TOTS stock paint. And I’ve tried all this on masks that are both stripped and not stripped, and with different paint consistencies.

I’m not looking at this from a capitalistic standpoint. I’m happy selling the masks I know how to do very well and have no interest in competing with those who do this far better than I. I just really want to be able to get them right for my own personal collection. Some people have nailed it right from the start and I’m simply perplexed at how they do it.

What’s the secret? The only thing I haven’t tried is Nightshades paint because I can’t justify paying top dollar when I can mix the colors easily and cheaply myself. Is there something about the Nightshades paint that lends itself better to dry brushing? Any advice is appreciated because frankly, I’m lost.

Quick question! I’m rehauling a Kills mask, after applying a base coat should I seal my paint job before doing the rub out/wash?

Can I see an h40 you done? Hit me up on IG MrHorrorEDC

Still loving the Tramer as an H1 base. Also. Still learning how to get/perfect my own “signature” finish. My first few bordered on the “clean” side but I’m really digging this attempt on my newest Tramer. I personally feel like you can really see the “Psycho” in it compared to my earlier attempts. I can’t wait to get some hair on this one

I ordered the boogeyman from tots a while back still haven’t received it. Waiting for it to decide whether I stick to tramers or not. But yeah. The tramer is an awesome h1

I never bothered to photograph them because they were never satisfactory. My first finished Kills mask is on my IG [doctormixter] if you wanna check it out. This was with the wash method. I guess I might say I was 40% satisfied with it compared to my H40 attempts.

You are absolutely killing it.

Very well done! I love it.

Im looking into sellers info on Ebay but no one has their names or qualifications/gfx experience listed on their About Pages on Ebay. Does anyone have a list of the ebayers usernames that are reputable in the business of rehaul/overhauling Myers Masks?
Three i have come across so far (look like good-great work):
november-13 - https://www.ebay.ca/usr/november-13
grcoo72 - https://www.ebay.ca/usr/grcoo72
aquiles74 - https://www.ebay.ca/usr/aquiles74
If there was a previous post of all the known ebayers, pls post. Many Thanks.
Happy Halloween :jack_o_lantern:

Do we know if Nelson also used cotton for the mold effect like TOTS did ?

This is probably been covered somewhere in here, but I have a couple questions regarding a H40 Tots rehaul!

The one question I’m wondering is where to get the mohair/creep hair to fill in the bald spots that my mask came with.

Lastly, I should mention that I am painting with brushes as I don’t have access to an air compressor at the moment. I’m being careful not to use too much paint and following the mixture guides in the videos just like I am airbrushing. However, I am having a hard time getting the weathering process to work. I either leave the black wash on too long an end up with a super dark gray mask, or the paint simply wipes right off within the cracks, leaving me with no weathering lines at all.

This side is awesome and I have creeped around for a while now. Always been a huge fan of the shape and this is sort of my way to have some fun this time of year with my favorite horror movie character. Take care!

Hi! I painted my h40 with brushes as well. i started with a cream colored base coat. the method i used is i sprayed the whole mask with a bit of water and then washed it with black paint and let it sit until it was mostly dry. i then used a damp rag, though if you can i suggest using bedsheet like nick mulpagano, to very lightly rub the wash away. it will take some time but eventually youll get it. the cracks and pits of the mask are going to need this treatment 2 to 3 times to stand out from the rest of the mask. i would honestly never suggest anyone to airbrush these masks, i think they look best handbrushed it just requires a bit more effort. as for the hair, sheps wool online has some good wool for hairing. i would recommend a full rehair and styling though as the stock isnt too great

I would actually recommend doing the darks first for the cracks with the 50/50 water mixture. Then dry brush the offwhite over the cracks. Make sure theres barely any paint on the brush. You’ll want to build up layers. You don’t really have to be that careful when doing this, the paint should avoid all the cracks if it’s completely dry. I myself tried many times the black wash over the white and like you, it always came out as a gray mess.

Hi fellas. Has anyone had @Nightmaretoys Gfx artist Shelley Moth complete a rehaul of a Myers Mask? Hes a youtuber that posts how to vids on rehauling masks. Looks like some good work. Curious to know if anyone had any experiences. Many thanks.
