After how many sequels, and the amount of abuse he has taken, he would have been dead numerous of times. Which is why I just go with it now when they end a movie.
I will say, after H18 I had a lot of hope, like many, that this group would make a great trilogy. Kills had some good things, but subplots. Like the other patient jumping out a window, was awful. I hope Ends turns out good. I don’t think anything revealed has been awful, but not great. This series has so many ups and downs, hopefully this is an up in the end.
Yeah, Hahah! It just feels that’s the way this is gonna go. A cheesy one liner by Laurie will be the last thing we have of 44 years of Halloween.
The people who make and approve these things seem to live in another world.
“GOTCHA”
Oh dear Lord.
Yes, I’m being negative, but I just can’t see the positives in what we’ve heard. it sounds so fan-fic ridiculous.
I WANT this movie to be good, great, even just fun or entertaining. Something with rewatch value if little else. I’m not gonna watch a movie about Michael Myers which does not have a real Michael Myers in the film. The ego of Gordon Green can go do one.
As a kid, I wanted Laurie to survive the original. Same with Halloween 2. Loved H20.
These days though, with all the over-the-top empowerment stuff happening, I’d honestly rather see the movie go against the obvious prediction that Michael gets owned hard. I’d prefer a surprise ending of Michael winning, going back to his demolished home, and standing in the same yard spot he stood in twice before. Send the series out with the strong message “you can’t escape the boogeyman”.
Not going to happen of course. I’m certain well get Michael beat so bad it looks like Jamie Lee Curtis used Charlotte Flair as her stunt double.
Only issue I have with this is for months now we have been told that the Ends will be 4 years after Kills. So for 3 years Michael just hangs out in the sewers recovering?
You bring up an interesting point. Too many criticisms about what none of us could ever do as well as these filmmakers. Fans & fanatics can hate everything involved with sequels, but never outdo them. They may think they can, or think their personal ideas are better, but when it comes to execution, no way.
It makes no sense. Michael is still weak 4 years later? Thats the one issue I see in that synopsis. Michael takes on a whole neighborhood then goes home and kills Karen no issue. And in that synopsis theres no mention of anything happening to him between the movies so, theres no way thats right. No possible way they could screw the writing and continuity up that bad. Someone above said something “killing making him stronger” we know thats not true cause he spent 40 years not killing and took out people on the bus no issue.
Yeah I don’t know why he’d still be injured or even show signs of being in a weakened state 4 years later. Especially considering it’s never stopped him in the past.
A day or two hiding out in a sewer… OK, I could buy that. Not great for your multiple open wounds but it’s Michael Myers, it’s fiction.
In this edition, which seems to just ghost in and out of what Michael Myers it wants to be, he’s now weak but still ticking along even though we just saw him kill everyone at the end of Kills and go back to his house, kill Karen and look quite invigorated ( as Laurie is rambling on about transcending and all that crap.) He’s home. Master of the world, standing imperious.
So he just… leaves home and goes down into the sewers?
Umm… OK, hiding, I guess? But then that makes him aware of of what he’s done and afraid of being captured. Why the hell is he ending up in the sewers? And for…
FOUR YEARS?
On paper, that sounds WORSE than how Resurrection utilized that ridiculous underneath the house crap. In that mess, OK, it’s possible he could have been hiding down there, coming up now and then to get your basic needs ( and go out and kill people on Halloween). Yeah. sure, it’s a huge stretch but that was a different Myers.
It’s worse than that film’s barmy explanation because this is supposed to be the guy from the original movie. H2018 and Kills. Would you picture that Michael Myers languishing in a sewer (ok, as I said, for some recovery time, perhaps) but for FOUR YEARS?? It just goes against everything the writer and director has just provided us.
I go back to a post I may have made earlier, the writers and directors, the creative team as a whole have no idea what they’re doing.
I chuckled when I read that. This sounds like some seriously bad teenage kids first attempt at a fan-fic horror script.
It’s a joke how Myers must have stripped down the emergency responder at the end of H20 for the start of H8, he must have been stripping himself and the Responder off, clothed himself, dressed the other guy, then escaped LOL
It’s Benny Hill clown school stuff.
So Michael, “weak”, is buff naked? What, did Cody remove his costume and has made a bed for Michael in a junkyard? What… the hell is this lol He’s gonna wear Myer’s costume (it’s gonna fit, it’s four years old, must stink!)
This is just… what are we doing here? What happened to the trilogy idea? Respecting the original and rejecting the so-called inferior sequels? Why go this absolute stupid route other than “We’ll you know… we thought about it a lot but… we kinda ran out of ideas.”
I slated fanfics earlier in this post but some fanfics read better than this tripe. This is just… trying to be different because.
I’m glad and thankful to those who have let us know what this “might” entail, thank you. Really appreciate it. I might actually enjoy the movie knowing what I’m getting myself in for. If I was a fan who was expecting something “that might be expected”, and we end up with this, I’d be livid. As of now, I might just enjoy it ( It’s gonna be a bad one, I’m prepared, kinda thing) lol
This film sounds incredibly bad. it just sounds like potentially one of the worst in the franchise.
I’m interested in how they market this film from now on. Are they gonna keep trying the Michael Vs Laurie thing ( that was sold to everyone from day one) and if that is a lie… well, wow.
You would think in trailer 2 they will be a little more story specific and try to get some headway there. It could work, for the general audience, it’s possible. “Oh… this isn’t what I thought it was gonna be…” That might be their main strategy.
Then final trailer- combination of both.
Curious to see the marketing and how they try and sell this thing.
Hard to disagree with that.
i don’t think it’s the only thing, but sure, Hollywood has always been left-leaning and wanting to look liberal, its in their interests to do that. That’s not a political standpoint, it’s just where they like to sit - it’s where it makes the most money.
Hollywoodizing an independent slasher movie… you get H20. You go again, you get these.
That’s why you see the same crap in every movie. There’s a guide to how to make a movie and they follow it to the letter, which means you get the exact same film, every time. You can change some things, but the standard ACT 1/2/3 and how the dynamics of them work remain the same. Which means you get the same shit. just served slightly differently.
Sorry for being a soggy sag, I don’t want Halloween to fail at all. I love it. I love being able to be here to talk about my woes about it lol No one else would give two hoots!
I want it to be great, a success and have that thumping theme at the end credits make me feel like “Wow… what an endng!” Not some bloody male model-looking idiot walk off into the night pretending to be Michael Myers… WTF is that?
